My Growing Up Story
For 13 incredible years, my mom has stood by me whenever I needed someone to lean on. Her work became the wall between us, but that never hindered her from showering me with love and care. Together with my loving grandparents, I grew into an independent and confident girl with dreams bigger than my fears. My childhood has taught me that family is not just a group of people—it’s made up of the important individuals who will continue to guide you, shower you with love, and be your greatest companions throughout your life.
After four years, the Lord blessed my mom with someone who would be her partner in life and, eventually, a father figure to me and my brother. Tito Chris’s presence became the most unexpected gift from God that shaped my journey throughout these years, reminding me that the most enchanting chapters are the ones we never saw coming.
Throughout my life, I have been surrounded by people who have always supported, guided, and shown me love. My friends, teachers, and the people close to me never fail to guide and nurture me into the person I am today. As they have become part of my life, they will always be a part of my story.
As I turn 18, this isn’t just a celebration of me entering adulthood. This is a dedication to the people who left a little of themselves in me. To Mama and Tito Chris, thank you for your sacrifices in making this celebration memorable and enchanting. To my grandparents, cousins, titas, and titos, thank you for your infinite support and love. To my friends, thank you for making my life wonderful and full of adventures.
As I step into adulthood, I am so grateful for what I have become and excited for what lies ahead of me.
