Our Love Story

In 2010, two people met for the first time while forming a band in high school. Ruben was the guitarist, and Angela was one of the singers. For years, they played together—not just as bandmates but also as close friends, sharing the same church and serving in the same ministry.

Along their journey of friendship, their bond grew deeper. They started caring for each other until they realized they had fallen in love. They never had a formal courtship; they were simply happy together. It was only after they already considered themselves a couple that they looked back to find evidence of when their love truly began. They discovered a note in Angela's college book, marking the month and year they first said "I love you" to each other—July 2012.

Their love has always been built on deep friendship, which is why people around them never found them overly sweet. Their mere presence with each other was already enough. They are an example of what we call a successful mutual understanding. Because of this, they never celebrated monthsaries or anniversaries. Instead, every moment together became a reason to be happy and content.

Now, they have been best friends for almost 15 years and a couple for nearly 13 years. From walking side by side to riding bicycles, motorcycles, and eventually cars, to going ukay-ukay shopping, enjoying turo-turo food, and taking beach and camping trips together, they have grown through every stage of life. They each have their own endeavors, yet they always support one another—without ego or competition. One’s achievement is also the other’s satisfaction. Even when life took them on different paths, neither ever thought of themselves as more successful than the other. To them, every success is shared—what one achieves, they both celebrate as their own. They have seen each other at their best and worst, yet they have chosen to stay together through it all.

None of this would have been possible without guidance—most importantly, from God. In every step of their journey, they have sought His will and direction. Their trust is in Him, and to Him be the glory forever!
