Our Love Story

It All Started in the Streets of Taft...

As students of De La Salle University Manila and De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde, we never imagined that a chance encounter would spark something so special. Poven was the loud and energetic cheerleader who could hype up an entire stadium, while Eli was the introverted martial artist who could knock you out—literally.

Opposites? Absolutely. But somehow, we just fit perfectly.

What began with quick hellos quickly turned into late-night talks, spontaneous hangouts, and epic gaming marathons. We became best friends—the kind of friends who just get each other. We could talk about anything, make each other laugh until it hurt, and knew we’d always have each other’s back. Life became more exciting, more meaningful, and just better with each other in it.

Partners in the Grind 💼✨

As our friendship deepened, so did our shared dreams. After graduating, we naturally became partners in work and business, brainstorming ideas, solving problems, and bringing our crazy visions to life. Whether it was late nights working on projects or celebrating big wins together, we quickly realized we didn’t just work well as a team—we thrived.

Supporting each other’s goals and pushing each other to be better wasn’t just something we did—it became part of who we are. Through every challenge, we found strength in each other and built something truly special.

Travel Buddy 🌍✈️

Our friendship didn’t just stay in offices and cafes—it took us across the world. We became partners in adventure, collecting memories everywhere we went. From getting lost in new cities to trying the latest food trends, each trip was filled with laughter, stories, and the kind of moments only best friends can share.

ON A ROLL 🥋

Then came jiu-jitsu, which started as Eli’s passion. Seeing it as the perfect excuse to spend more time together, Poven joined training. What began as a fun hobby turned into another shared adventure, and soon enough, we found ourselves winning competitions side by side. Because that’s just what we do—we lift each other up, challenge each other, and win as a team.

The Proposal 💍🥊

One of our most unforgettable moments was during a visit to Shinjuku Gyoen Garden in Tokyo, Japan. On a quiet afternoon right, Poven dropped to one knee and asked the biggest question of his life.

But, of course, Eli couldn’t resist being herself. She feigned a punch, just to keep him on his toes—because that’s what best friends do.

With a laugh and a big smile, she said “YES!”, and just like that, our next chapter began.
