With her mom working abroad, her dad not only stayed faithfully devoted, he became the Tres Marias 24/7 beacon of guidance and strength, his steady presence shaping their values and inspiring their goals. 

He was a man of firm principles, whose strict ways taught his daughters discipline, resilience, and the value of hard work. Though what he felt was rarely expressed in words it was the kind only a father could offer when guiding with both love and firm resolve it was evident in his sacrifices, shaping them into strong, capable individuals. 

These things helped shape Sharmaine’s dreams and giving her sky-high standards for what love and respect should look like. 

And there's her eldest sister, who found her one true love, a relationship built on teamwork and an unbreakable bond. They became Sharmaine’s second set of parents, teaching her that love is a symphony of flavors, built on shared laughter in the kitchen and the unspoken connection of creating together. 

With such inspiring stories lighting the way, Sharmaine grew up hopeful and believing in magic. Where the world seemed full of hidden wonders and anything was possible, as if the ordinary held secrets waiting to be discovered. 

And little did she know, her most impulsive decision, packing her bags and moving to Dubai would lead her straight to her own real-life love story, one that felt just like the ones she grew up dreaming about, one that felt like home. 

In that foreign country, she was surrounded by friends who knew her heart, a little matchmaking magic brought Paul into her life. It was May 2020 when they first met, during the height of the pandemic—lockdowns, curfews, permits, and all. But not even a global crisis could stop their connection. 

Their story took a turn for the better when Paul said to her, “Nahanap ko na ang kahati sa twin pack na kape,” she thought it was just a silly cheesy line. But when he explained how much it meant to him, it all clicked. For Sharmaine, this simple coffee metaphor served as a defining moment in their relationship. 

Just like Sharmaine, Paul was also looking for someone to share life’s highs and lows. And in Sharmaine, he found exactly that: his perfect “kahati sa twin pack na kape. 

Paul became Sharmaine’s compass in her new life abroad. He wasn’t just there to care for her—he inspired her to dream bigger. He was the calmest person she’d ever met, with a kindness so genuine it felt almost too good to be true. Without even realizing it, Paul showed Sharmaine a stillness wrapped around like a warm blanket, with every breath bringing a sense of serenity that eased her mind. The beauty of peace. 

Fast forward four years to July 25, 2024. What started as a simple 4th-anniversary celebration turned into the most unforgettable night of their lives. 

Paul, who’s never been much of a planner, pulled off the most perfect evening. A nostalgic trip to Al Seef, the classic spot in Dubai where they had their very first date as a couple. Just as she thought the night is over little did she know, the real magic was waiting back at their hotel room. 

As they walked in, the room was aglow with candlelight, scattered rose petals, and an unmistakable air of mystery. Before Sharmaine could even take it all in, there was Paul—already on one knee, holding the moment they’d both been waiting for. And the answer? Well, it was written all over Sharmaine’s face—a big, happy, tear-filled yes! 

As they stood hand in hand, gazing into each other’s eyes, the world around them seemed to fade away. Everything that had led them to this moment—the laughter, the struggles, the shared dreams—had been worth it. They knew that the road ahead wouldn’t always be easy, but together, they were ready for whatever came their way. With hearts full of love and anticipation, they were about to start a new chapter, not as two individuals, but as one. The journey had just begun, and they couldn’t wait to walk it together.
