Our Love Story
HER POV
The Slow Burn & The Commute
Though we attended the same university and worked in the same institution for years, our paths didn't officially cross until January 10, 2019, when I joined his department. Even then, section boundaries kept us apart and we rarely interacted, until fate (or my lack of direction and experience with public transit) stepped in. One shared evening commute home after work was where our real connection began.
No Cheesy Lines, Just Substance
Long before we admitted that we were in love, there had already been consistent late-night talks. From our very first message on March 15, 2019, our dynamic was refreshingly grounded. There were no generic, flirty talks, just genuine convos about our families, our values, and who we really were. Getting to know him felt so pure and genuine. He confessed his feelings on August 16, 2020, but it wasn't until December 30, 2020, that he asked me out for dinner and formally asked if he could court me. (Of course, I said yes!) We still joke that we’d have a whole year added to our relationship if he had just asked me to be his girlfriend back in August 2020 instead!
Making It Official
On October 26, 2021, I finally said “Yes” and we made it official. Fast forward to our third anniversary celebration, when we agreed on a quiet promise: we would tie the knot on our fifth year together. Then came January 30, 2026. Instead of a dramatic, traditional proposal, he proposed in the most uniquely-him way possible—pulling out a ring inside the car and asking, "Love, tingnan mo nga kung bagay sa 'yo 'to?" It was simple, unexpected, and completely us.
Quiet, Steadfast Love
Our story isn’t a grand fairytale, but rather a peaceful, steadfast one—and we prefer it that way. We learned that love is built daily through patience, listening, and putting each other ahead of our pride (which is no easy feat for a Leo like me!). After five years of building this quiet, beautiful life together, we’re so ready to say, "I do."
Our Love Story
HIS POV
Before I Knew Her Name
It happened sometime in 2018. I didn't bother noting the exact date back then, convinced it was just another ordinary workday. Little did I know, I was meeting my future wife. She and her colleague walked into our office, needing a favor regarding a work transaction. She was reserved, inconspicuous, and simple. Completely unaware of what she would eventually mean to me. To this day, I often wonder if she even remembers that random afternoon—the day my forever quietly began.
A Shared Journey Home
Even though we were technically in the same unit, we scarcely converse. We were assigned to completely different teams and buried under our own separate piles of work, sharing nothing more than an occasional passing glance in the hallway or polite nod by the pantry. Until one day—March 15, 2019—she asked if she could tag along on my commute home. Having just moved, she wasn't familiar with the directions yet. Fortunately, we shared the exact same route. Who would have thought that a simple shared ride home would become the start of our lifelong journey.
Leaping into Love
What started as eager texts and hidden smiles turned real on December 30, 2020, when I finally asked her out and formally court her—and after 10 months of grueling hardships and persistent efforts to make her fall in love with me, she finally ended her playing hard to get and said “Yes!”. Making us an official couple on October 26, 2021.
The Promise Kept
On our 3rd anniversary, we promised to walk down the aisle by our 5th. I planned to propose at Monasterio de Tarlac on December 8, 2025, but unfortunately the ring hadn't arrived yet. I ended up praying so hard that day I didn't even notice I was crying. Fast forward to January 30, 2026—the first time I had the ring with me. I couldn't wait. Right there in our office parking lot, I asked if it fits her. Luckily it did, so I asked, “Papakasalan mo naman ako diba?” She answered: "Oo naman!".
Our Journey to Forever
Our love wasn't built on grand gestures, but on moments of serendipity, patience, perseverance, and fulfillment. What started as a simple ride home turned into trips and late-night conversations that made the miles and times fly by.
