Our Love Story

Francis and Lucy met each other at Atlantic Development Company on 1968. It was in Luneta Park year 1973 when Francis asked Lucy to become his girlfriend. They always eat at Aristocrat Monumento.

What Francis loves about Lucy is her simplicity, beauty, and kindness. Above all, she is a great cook—truly embodying the saying, "The way to a man's heart is through his stomach."

On the other hand, Lucy chose Francis because of his kindness, handsomeness, and the fact that he had no vices.

In year January 1975, Francis told her that he will go and meet her old folks to ask her hand for marriage, Lucy took it lightly, knowing he is just joking. But her surprise it is not a joke.

Francis wants them to be married in May 1975 so he could still save some money for the wedding. However, Anda (Lucy’s grandmother) made a remark, “Pupunta dito, hindi naman pala handa”. Then she look at the calendar and blurted that wedding will be on January 26.

It was 26th January 1975 when they got married at San Diego de Alcala Parish at Polo Church Valenzuela. Lucy was 24 and Francis was 26.

Humble beginnings when they started building their own family at small rented house in Caloocan City.

Both worked at Atlantic Garments and later at General Fabricoid—Lucy as a weaver and Francis as a mechanic. They faced and overcame many hardships as they worked hard to raise three children: Cecille, Charito, and Cesar. Each of them has since built their own beautiful family.

They have 3 beautiful grand daughters (Cedrich Elysha, Celyne Beatriz and Sofia Louise) and 1 grand son (One Samuel Frances).

Through thick and thin, they have continued to love and care for each other. Like any marriage, they’ve had their share of heated arguments. But as the vows say, for better or worse, in sickness and in health, ‘til death do us part, they remain steadfast in their love and commitment.
