Our Love Story

A Love That Endures

It all began in 2012 at Aklan Catholic College when Aiza was asked to lend a criminology book to Aljon—someone she hadn’t met yet. His brother and a friend, both Aiza's classmates in General Education subject, mentioned that Aljon needed the book for one of his courses. Since they weren’t available, they gave Aiza his number, and she reached out. That simple text message set in motion a journey neither of them could have predicted.

At first, Aiza and Aljon were just friends. Aiza saw Aljon as carefree, while she was serious about her studies. Their personalities couldn’t have been more different. But those differences became the foundation of their love. Aljon’s easygoing nature brought ease and fun into Aiza’s structured world. He taught her to slow down and savor life’s moments, while she grounded him, inspiring him to think bigger and dream more.

They shared small, meaningful moments—lunches, street food, quiet conversations under the stars. These weren’t grand gestures but laid the foundation for something special. On February 22, 2013, they officially started their relationship, stepping into a new chapter of their lives.

Their journey wasn’t easy. Financial struggles and doubts from others tested them. Aiza was a student leader, while Aljon was more relaxed. Some questioned how their contrasting personalities could work. But they chose to grow together, focusing on their studies and supporting one another. Aljon worked hard to rebuild himself, and when he wasn’t in class, he joined Paraw Sailing to help with his allowance and treat Aiza. Aiza sold direct-selling products to cover her notes and fare. They did this to lessen the burden on their families who supported their education.

After graduation, Aiza dedicated herself to shaping the minds of future criminology students. For nine years, she balanced being a breadwinner with her role as a faculty member. Aljon, meanwhile, followed his dream of joining the Philippine National Police, working diligently to build his career and serve his community. The distance between them tested their love, but it also strengthened it. They shared a common vision and trust, knowing their sacrifices would bring them back together.

They kept their relationship private, focusing on their bond rather than external validation. For 12 years, their love endured, growing stronger with each passing year. They faced countless hardships, but their relationship only deepened. When they fought, they gave each other space, letting their hearts speak louder than words. In those quiet moments, they grew even closer.

In the most difficult times, they always felt each other’s love. For Aiza, Aljon was his first and last love. He respected her decisions and never rushed her. His patience showed the depth of his commitment. To Aiza, Aljon was her safe place—the calm amidst the chaos of life.

Aiza and Aljon waited for each other—personally, professionally, and emotionally—believing that, in time, they would be ready to face the future together.

Finally, as they prepared for their wedding day, Aiza and Aljon reflected on their journey. Their love had survived time, distance, and adversity, growing stronger with each trial. They were no longer the same people who met at Aklan Catholic College. They had evolved, but their love had remained steadfast.

Their relationship was a testament to the power of patience, faith, and commitment. As they stood on the brink of their wedding day, they carried with them the lessons of their journey: that love is a choice, a commitment, and an act of faith. Their story proved that true love doesn’t just survive—it thrives, shaping two individuals into the best versions of themselves.

On their wedding day, standing at the altar, Aiza and Aljon would not only exchange vows—they would honor a love that had been tested by time and emerged stronger. Surrounded by their loved ones, they would begin a new chapter together, stepping into a future they had built side by side, proving that true love doesn’t just endure—it conquers.
